I said yes!

On April 11th 2020, I married myself

Surrounded by many of my most dear friends, I got to say yes to marrying myself, as a radical act of love, committing to myself and to feel completely whole without the need of external approval. From a place of wholeness, instead of a place of need or lack, I can come to my relationship with others in a different light.

My ideal self (Ce Now) married my current and past selves (Cecilia and Maria Cecilia) so that my current self could stand forever by my best self that I'll always strive to be, while my best self could love and care forever for my current and past selves, no matter wherever they are and were.

My promises to myself

You're about to make promises to yourself that you intend to keep. You're going to vow to take care of yourself, to stand up for yourself, and find happiness in yourself. There's a simple premise to each of these promises: you're vowing to be there for yourself. You're saying to yourself, "Every experience I am going to have, I want you to be there, present with me and others."

Will you, Cecilia, keep yourself as your favorite person — to laugh with, go on adventures with, support yourself through life's tough moments, be proud of yourself, enjoy growing old with yourself, and find new reasons to love yourself and others every day?

….

Will you remember to be in awe at the deep mysteries of this amazing universe we live in day after day?

...

Will you marry all of you including all the so called good and all the so called bad?

Do you promise to connect with others from this place of wholeness and open heart?

….

Now, with this ring, I declare you married to yourself for all eternity and beyond!!
